(THH) A good Regency rosewood, ormolu and brass inlaid library table, attributable to Louis Le Gaigneur, with tooled inset surface above a pair of frieze drawers, on brass casters, 138.5 wide x 97cm deep.
Le Gaigneur was patronised by the Prince Regent and established his workshop at 19 Queen Street, Edgware Road. For similar tables see Christies, London, 15th Nov 2017 (Lot 49); and Christies, Paris, 7th Nov 2012 (Lot 364). Similar tables have previously been attributed to John McLean & Son.
