Stride & Son charge a buyer’s premium on the hammer price of 18% plus VAT (21.6% inclusive). Bidding live via the internet will incur additional fees.

VIEWING

Fully illustrated digital catalogues will be available to view from the Saturday preceding the auction. All auctions can be viewed in person from the Monday preceding the auction until the morning of each sale. Printed catalogues are available to purchase one week before the auction.

BIDDING

Live internet bidding is available via our website. Anyone wishing to bid at the auction must register to do so. Prospective parties must provide their full name, address and telephone number. Anti-Money Laundering regulations will sometimes require us to take additional proof of identification.

CONDITION REPORTS

We recommend that anyone wishing to bid, who has not viewed in person, obtain a condition report. We can provide these by telephone or email.

COMMISSION OR ABSENTEE BIDS

For those unable attend the auction we will bid on your behalf. We will endeavour to purchase the lot(s) at the lowest price possible subject to any reserves and/or other bids.

TELEPHONE BIDS

Subject to our discretion we will execute telephone bids on lots with a minimum estimate of £500. Telephone bids are accepted on a ‘first come first served’ basis.

PAYMENT

All purchased lots must be paid in full within five working days. Anti-Money Laundering regulations limit the amount of cash payments which can be received.

COLLECTION & STORAGE

Each purchased lot not collected within five working days of the sale, whether or not payment has been made, will incur a daily storage charge of £2 plus VAT.
