Buying & Selling
Buying at Auction
Our auctions are available to view in person on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday preceding the auction and on the morning of each sale. Catalogues are available from our office one week before the sale, or may be viewed online from the Saturday preceding the auction.
We recommend that anyone wishing to leave a bid, who has not viewed in person, obtain a condition report. We can provide these by telephone or email.
Export of Goods
Buyers intending to export goods should check whether an export or import licence is required. Some endangered species may be prohibited, for example elephant ivory.
For those who cannot attend the auction we will bid on your behalf. We will endeavour to purchase the lot(s) at the lowest price possible subject to any other bids or reserves.
Subject to our discretion we will execute telephone bids on lots with a minimum estimate of £1,000. Telephone bids are accepted on a ‘first come first served’ basis.
Postage Packing & Shipping
Overseas Buyers: We DO NOT provide a postal service outside of the UK.
UK Buyers: Small Items (Jiffy Bag Size) ONLY by Royal Mail ‘Signed For’ service.

Stride & Son will provide you with a free auction valuation which can be obtained in one of the following ways:
