A rare George IV silver gilt presentation trowel for the opening of New London Bridge 1828, by James William Garland, London 1827, the blade inscribed 'With This Trowel the first stone on The City Side of the New London Bridge was laid in The Foundation of the Abutment by The Right Honourable Matthias Prime Lucas, Lord Mayor, on the 12th day of March 1828', and to the reverse the coat of arms of The City of London, 37cm, 402g.
