(ML) A good George II green Japanned eight day longcase clock, the 12in arched brass and silvered dial inscribed 'Henton Brown, London', decorated all over with gilt chinoiserie, 238cm high, with weights and pendulum.
Provenance: Lady Sybil Elizabeth George, Stansted House.
Overall in honest untouched country house condition, hood with original glass. Some surface wear and loss to gilding on case. Seating board appears original. Surface wear to dial. Worm damage to rear panel of board. Isolated worm damage. Chip out of door by lock, in need of a service, we have not set it up here so cannot say whether it is working.
