A Victorian silver mounted cut glass claret jug, by W G, Birmingham 1866, 28cm.
The hallmarks are clear, the lid is only partially marked with Lion and date letter, the shield on the lid is engraved with the same crest as etched into one side of the glass body, the other side is etched with initials. There are two dents to the lid. Surface scratching to the glass commensurate with age and use, blooming to interior, rusting to the steel handle supports at bottom and near hinge.
