ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPT ON VELLUM: Philip II of Spain (& Mary Tudor): a single vellum leaf, approx 29.5 x 19cm, full page illumination in colours to one side depicting a mounted horseman slaying native Americans, large armorial bearing below surmounted by helmet, broad decorative border to left and right edge, verso with 34 lines of text in black ink, rubricated in red and with large decorative initial, providing full titles of the king and referring to collection of taxes, some minor dust soiling and browning but generally in good condition, mid-16th century.
