SHIPS LOGS: HMS TALBOT, CHINA STATION: a pair of detailed and comprehensive ships logs, largely pertaining to HMS Talbot at the China Station, Hong Kong, Singapore and at sea Colombo-Aden-Suez, June 1902-July 1904: with detailed accounts of daily actions, including the action at Chemulpo Feb 9th 1904, during the Russo-Japanese war: illustrated with some 59 manuscript diagrams, 15 maps and some further sketches, many neatly coloured, including large folding plan of the action at Chemulpo: large folding map showing the value of British trade in the east: map of Yokohama Harbour, Hong Kong, etc: the second volume closes with a section relating to life aboard HMS Magnificent on the channel/Atlantic fleet Oct 1904-April 1905, illustrated with some 15 further diagrams and maps: contained in 2 folio volumes, green felt covered, contents shaken in part with some leaves loose and chips to edges, some toning and damp marking but generally in good legible condition.
