Taxidermy: a large Bengal Tiger head (Panthera tigris tigirs), attributed to Theobald Bros, Mysore, India, late 19th century, on shaped mahogany shield, stencilled 343 to back, height of shield excluding hook 56cm, width of shield, 54cm total depth from wall 51cm, (chips to incisor teeth).
This distinctive shield shape is an early style used by Theobald Bros, who were operating circa 1862-1919.
