A 17th/18th century Scottish white metal octagonal tobacco box, the hinged lid decorated with the Porterfield family crest and motto, the reverse engraved 'Alexander Porterfield Of That Ilk' and a later scratched date, (possibly 1626), the gilt interior with a steel spring catch, 8.5 x 7.5cm.
